To celebrate Country Living’s 40th birthday, we are delighted to launch our nationwide search for 40 of the Best Artisans. We are looking for makers and producers who share our passion for craftsmanship, quality and sustainability, and are calling for nominations across a range of artisanal and heritage crafts – from potters and textile artists to weavers, cheesemakers and blacksmiths. 

The awards are open to all, including members of The Artisan Collective, those who may have worked with us in the past and brand new names and faces from across the country. 

[[We are thrilled to announce that Emma Bridgewater – owner and founder of the eponymous iconic British pottery brand – is our awards patron and will be self-selecting artisans from the final list of 40 for a bespoke mentorship opportunity.]]

Emma says:

 “Like Country Living, my own business celebrates its 40th birthday this year and I’m proud to have helped reinvigorate an industry that was at risk of being lost. I will always be committed to supporting traditional craft skills. Being analogue in a digital world is tremendously appealing and these awards are a brilliant way of championing that.”

You can nominate yourself or someone else: all we need is detail of the work or business and why it should be recognised as one of Country Living’s 40 of the Best Artisans 2025. The final list will be judged by Country Living editors. Nominations will close on Saturday 31 May.

The winning 40 will receive:

• A year’s free membership to the Country Living Artisan Collective. Existing members will get the following year for free. 
• An invitation to an award-winners’ event at the Country Living Christmas Market in London this November
• An opportunity to showcase your work on Country Living’s content channels
• Our stamp of approval: an official 40 of the Best Artisans stamp to use across all your own selling channels
• PLUS the opportunity to be selected for an exclusive mentorship with Emma Bridgewater
