I founded my business in 2002 with the aim of making joyful, uplifting pieces that bring warmth and character to everyday living. I am endlessly captivated by their song, silhouettes and individual personalities. Through my work, I explore their distinctive features and quiet charm.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eEach piece I make is a true labour of love – and patience. Glass is a wonderfully temperamental medium, involving many stages and careful decision making. I begin by cutting and cleaning each tiny glass component, before layering, positioning and decorating with glass powders. A single piece may go through up to four kiln firings. Once fired, every object is individually cold-worked by hand, through polishing, sanding, grinding or drilling.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eMy love of birds began in childhood and continues today as I observe them in my garden and the wider UK landscape. For me, birds evoke tranquillity and a gentle humour.
