Linocut Botanical Stories from Norfolk

I'm Pamela, and from my countryside studio in Norfolk, I hand-carve intimate botanical portraits that celebrate Britain's often-overlooked wildflowers and garden blooms.

Every design begins with sketches gathered during walks through Norfolk's hedgerows and countryside, where I'm drawn to the resilient flowers that bloom season after season. Back in my studio, I transform these observations into hand-carved lino blocks, creating the original design through traditional linocut. I then use digital methods to add contemporary colours and refine each piece before printing them in small batches onto notecards, art prints and personal stationery.

My botanical portraits speak to those who find magic in simple moments – the first daffodils of spring, cottage garden climbers in summer, or autumn's final brave blooms. Each design carries the beautiful imperfections that make hand-carved printmaking so special, blending traditional craft techniques with modern production methods to create pieces that capture nature's essence with bold, expressive lines.

This approach allows me to honour the handmade heritage of linocut while making my botanical designs accessible as premium stationery and wall art that brings the changing seasons into everyday celebrations.
