Aspro Studios

I’m Kay, the designer behind Aspro Studios, a small independent business tucked away in the Staffordshire countryside. The business has grown from three things I’ve always loved: good design, great words and beautiful typography – all with a twist of humour.

Inspiration is everywhere: country life, gardens and wildlife, conversations, hobbies, celebrations and the funny little things we all recognise from everyday life. An overheard phrase or particularly good pun can quite easily become the beginning of my next collection.

On a drive to reduce waste and provide value for money, our greeting cards are made using wildflower seed card combining words and illustration. Once the occasion has passed, the card can be planted, watered and grown into wildflowers, giving it a lovely life beyond the mantelpiece.

I also design original prints and gifts celebrating everything from gardening and the countryside to music, sport and milestone birthdays. Typography plays a huge part in my work, and I love finding excuses to research facts; arranging words and information and creating something people want to stop and look at.

Everything starts here in Staffordshire and is created with originality, quality and personality in mind. Aspro Studios is for people who appreciate thoughtful design but don’t believe thoughtful has to mean serious – because sometimes the best gift is simply the one that makes somebody laugh.
