Laburnum Woodturning
I’m a woodturner, based in Hampshire, with a passion (my wife would say obsession) for creating beautiful, functional and decorative pieces from sustainably sourced, and reclaimed wood.
I am passionate about sustainably sourcing, and reclaiming the wood I use. By cultivating relationships with local arborists, I source a lot of the native wood I use from arborist waste. All of the exotics woods that I use are reclaimed from various sources such as old furniture, joinery offcuts, industry, and old stock. I see each project as an opportunity to add to the story of the piece wood used.
I take great care in transforming these rescued materials into bowls, vases, and other functional and decorative pieces. By using wood that might otherwise be discarded, I not only create one-of-a-kind items but also contribute to reducing waste and minimising environmental impact.
My work is a celebration of the beauty in the imperfect, and each piece is a reflection of the sustainable practices I value deeply. Every turn of the lathe is an opportunity to create something meaningful, and I’m proud to offer pieces that combine artistry with environmental care.
