Lander & May Ltd
We are artisan globe makers, making globes of the world by hand using time-honoured methods and materials. Each globe is made to order.
Our range includes both historic reproductions and contemporary globes. Our historic globes use facsimile map artwork, from all major master globe makers of the past - Cassini, Coronelli, Desnos, Bion, showing the world as it was from the C17th and C18th.
Our contemporary globes are drawn from our up to date digital cartographic library, which is constantly revised to include the latest name changes and border adjustments. These globes reflect the world as it is today.
Chris Adams, globe maker, has worked in this field for 20 years, and is one of very few traditional globe makers practising in the world today. Globe making of this nature is an almost obsolete art, and is included in the Heritage Craft Red List of Endangered Crafts.
Lander & May have been selling globes since 2011, to an international clientele, including private collectors, film studios, museums, galleries and exhibition centres. They were shortlisted by Country Living for the Best UK Artisan Award.
