Hello and welcome to little ram studio.

We are Gary and Heather Ramskill both Artists and Printmakers who produce original art from our home studio in rural North Yorkshire. We have always enjoyed creating art and having left behind the world of graphic design we decided to start printmaking to create affordable art for everyone to be able to appreciate. We offer a wide variety of original handmade linocut prints, both open ended and limited edition pieces. We both try to push the technique of lino cutting to its limits and many of our prints have a painterly look to them.

Gary – I specialise in garden birds and British wildlife, aiming to capture them in their natural habitat. I use separate plates for each ink colour which means registration needs a keen eye, Heather is the expert at this while I work the press and hand mix the inks.

Heather – I use my love of gardening to inspire my work, florals and vintage pottery are my thing. I use the reduction method which means the entire print is on one plate and is cut away as the colours are worked from light to dark.

The entire process from cutting the lino plate to printing on our hand press means each image is an original print and depending on the weight of the press, the amount of ink and the paper used every image has it’s nuances, making it a unique handmade little piece of art.
