Lochard Clay
Hello!I’m a stay-at-home mum who found my way into ceramics through curiosity, and stayed for the quiet, grounding rhythm of making. From my small studio, I create pottery inspired by the shifting colours, textures, and moods of the landscape around me. What began as a simple hobby has slowly unfolded into a second-half-of-life creative practice, rooted in the idea that handmade objects can bring warmth, joy, and presence to everyday moments. Each piece is handmade, a tactile reflection of the natural beauty that surrounds the studio—from the soft green moss underfoot to the delicate blossoms that bloom each spring. Colours and textures are drawn directly from this landscape, with glazes that capture the quiet vibrancy of a forest in bloom and the subtle nuances of sunlight on stone and leaf.My focus is on drinkware—mugs, tumblers, teapots, and jugs—crafted to elevate the everyday act of drinking into a mindful, joyful ritual. Whether it’s a morning coffee, a quiet afternoon tea, or a shared evening whisky, each vessel invites you to slow down, to savor, and to connect with the moment.
Sustainability and thoughtfulness extend beyond the clay itself: pieces are wrapped in vintage table linens, packaged in recycled materials, and designed to feel like a gift for both the user and the planet. At Lochard Clay, every cup, every teapot, every jug is a small celebration of curiosity, joy, and the quiet magic of the natural world, bringing a touch of the Trossachs into your daily rituals
