Marsden & Whittle

We are Matt and Scott, the founders of Marsden and Whittle, an award-winning home fragrance brand handmade in Cheshire since 2021.

Our name is inherited, not invented. Marsden and Whittle is named after Maurice Marsden and Priscilla Whittle, Matt's grandparents, whose characters are woven into everything we create. Maurice was a man of quiet authority: an RAF serviceman, a sharp dresser, someone associated with warmth, polish and understated elegance. Priscilla was a different kind of force entirely: nurturing, vibrant and deeply connected to her garden. Together, they represent the balance we chase in every fragrance we make. Depth alongside brightness. Richness alongside freshness. Comfort paired with something a little more refined.

We started at artisan markets on the Wirral and in Cheshire, growing through word of mouth and the question we still love to hear: "What is that fragrance?" Today we create 18 beautifully crafted scents across five fragrance families: Floral, Fruity, Fresh, Tropical and Smoky. Every product is blended, poured and hand-labelled in our own scent studio, with care and precision at every stage.

Our reed diffuser blends contain no water and no alcohol. While many diffusers bulk out the liquid with water or alcohol, which evaporates quickly and disappoints, we never take that shortcut. The result is a longer-lasting, more consistent scent that genuinely fills a room and keeps performing well beyond what you might expect.

We are proud to hold multiple national awards, including Home Scent of the Year in 2024 and 2025, and Luxury Home Fragrance Brand of the Year for Wales two years running.

We never set out to be the biggest. Only the most trusted.
