Nicky Baker - The Wight Pencil
Welcome to The Wight Pencil! I’m Nicky, a graphite artist living on the Isle of Wight, where I’m lucky enough to have both beautiful beaches and woodland walks within a 15 minute stroll from home.
Drawing has been a lifelong passion of mine. I initially started out drawing house commissions and portraits before putting down my pencils in 1998 to concentrate on family life. In 2014, when my children didn't require quite so much attention, (though let's be honest, children always keep you busy regardless of their age!) I picked up my pencils again. With the support of my husband Richard who is a designer, was lucky enough to turn my hobby into a business!
My work is inspired by the nature and wildlife on the Island and beyond, and I'm always on the lookout for new ideas when I'm out and about. I often attend events on the Isle of Wight, and you can find details of these and see what else I get up to by searching and following me on social media.
All my products are made in the UK, including tea towels, notebooks, cards, prints and stationery, and I carefully wrap them in tissue and plastic free packaging before posting out. All prices include postage.
I hope you enjoy browsing my collection, and if you have any questions, or are interested in stocking my work, I'd love to hear from you!
