Pulp and Pigment

My name is Katie and I’m a printmaker based on the doorstep of the Peak District. My artwork celebrates mother nature through hand printed botanical pieces which I create directly from foraged leaves. I use layered gelli printing techniques or traditional relief print methods often including houseplants, woodland species, moorland grasses and even seaweed! My love of botanical printmaking stemmed from my obsession with nature and always being fascinated by it’s beauty; the intricate details and textures of leaves and the individuality of each leaf. My art allows me to slow down, appreciate the magnificence of nature when foraging and imprint those moments through a delicate printing process, creating highly detailed botanical artworks for the home.
