Sarah Taylor | Bold Animal Art

Inspired by the British countryside and a lifelong love of animals, I’ve been painting bold expressive animal portraits since 2015.

My style has evolved over the years but has always had strong joyful aesthetic and vibrant colour palette. I wanted to have fun when I painted, to challenge myself to lose control, and play more; I encourage the inks to splash over the painting and fill each piece with an energy that I would want to hang in my own home. I build multiple layers to create a sense of realism, and then introduce hand-drawn geometric patterns to accentuate highlights, textures and personality.

Much of my inspiration comes from time spent outdoors noticing the small details in nature, as well as the comfort and companionship animals bring to everyday life. I want my artwork to create that same feeling for others whether it reminds someone of a beloved pet, a favourite animal, or simply adds a burst of colour and happiness to their space.

The character of the animals is bursting from the painting into your home. These aren’t slapdash, fast paced creations each piece is crafted with years of practice and filled with love.

Joyful animal art, commissions accepted.
