Vikki Lafford Garside

A desire to make special and beautifully crafted products has always been in my blood and my first exploration into art and textiles began before I can even remember. I was incredibly fortunate to grow up in a creative family in the beautiful Oxfordshire Cotswolds, a part of the world that has fuelled the imaginations of many incredible artists and designers for centuries. I spent many childhood days daydreaming about fairies, exploring beautiful countryside, drawing, painting and embellishing things with stitches and sequins.

Over the years my passion for embroidery, nature and art developed into a journey that took me to Manchester where I gained a degree in Embroidery, then to Chelsea College of Art where I achieved a Master's degree in Textile Design.

Since graduating in 2006 I have been designing and making dresses, unique bridalwear, accessories and jewellery inspired by nature, fairy tales and fantasy. Recently my work has evolved into wall art too.

In every piece I make, I hope to encapsulate the beauty and fragility of nature and create a timeless, unique design to be treasured and worn for many years to come.
