Whist

Whist was born from a love of nature, a belief in the power of aromatherapy, and the simple ritual of pausing.

I first began creating candles while running my holistic retreat, wanting to offer my clients something non-toxic, eco-conscious, and truly restorative. Over time, candle making became more than a craft, it became a source of comfort, grounding, and light during some of the most difficult chapters of my life.

When my husband, Nik, was diagnosed with cancer, everything shifted. In those long, uncertain nights, lighting a candle became my way to pause. The gentle flicker guided me to gather strength, release fear, and keep hold of hope close. That small ritual carried me through, and it’s at the heart of everything Whist has become.

Nik was my biggest encourager, always reminding me to follow this dream. Even in the darkest times, he pushed me to bring Whist into the world. We eventually got to celebrate its launch together, and his unwavering belief remains at the very soul of this brand. Though heartbreakingly he is no longer here, his light continues to guide me.

Whist is more than fragrance. It is a wish that when you light one of our candles, you find not just a beautiful scent to fill your space, but also a moment of stillness, comfort, or strength, however you need it most.
