Amanda Mercer - Ceramic Design & Loveliness

ABOUT

Hello, and welcome to Amanda Mercer - Ceramic Design & Loveliness. I am a designer and maker creating gifts and homeware from Porcelain.

Each piece is handmade by me, working from my home studio in Cumbria. My collection has a touch of nostalgia in my own personal style. I apply lace and textures to imprint into the clay and the use of patterns on the surface for colour. I use various techniques including hand building and slip casting creating a range of decorations and forms.

Ever since I can remember I have always loved drawing and painting and it was my love of art and craft which led me to study Contemporary Applied Arts at the University of Cumbria. I studied ceramics, printed textiles, embroidery and constructed textiles which still influence my craft. My first retail event was the Country Living Fair in Glasgow to which I still exhibit at alongside Harrogate. Since I first started, my collection has grown and I am inspired by beautiful things and from different pieces from my own collection.

I hope you enjoy browsing my collection and find a beautiful gift or treat for yourself.
