Kaper

Hello! I’m Kate.

I am a paper artist and printmaker. I make paper sculptures celebrating the beauty of the great outdoors, especially birds- our beloved garden visitors! It is my aim to capture the beauty and delight of Britain’s favourite birds and flowers we find in a walk in the woods, and harness a little bit of that magic for your walls and shelves. I am also inspired by parrots and tropical species further afield.

Treading lightly on the environment is important to me. My paper art is made from recycled papers and I aim to create minimal waste.

Each paper sculpture is built by hand, building layers and layers of really sturdy (300GSM) recycled cardstock. My paper is decorated using traditional printing methods such as monotype and screen printing, which also emphasises their individuality; no two sculptures are ever the same. Each piece has their own colour palette and patterns, with a unique pose and embellishments to give them their own personality.
