Lorraine Field Art

I’m Lorraine Field, an award-winning oil painter based in the countryside near Stratford-upon-Avon. After surviving cancer, I stopped putting off the life I wanted and, at 55, left the security of my day job to become a full-time artist.

I create original oil paintings inspired by the countryside, the coast and those deeply human moments that can say more than words. I’m fascinated by the connection people feel when they recognise something of themselves, someone they love or a chapter of their own life within a painting. I aim is to paint 'recognition'.

Each original is painted in oils, using layers of colour, expressive brushwork and carefully observed light. My work is also available as museum-quality fine-art prints and thoughtfully produced homeware, allowing people to bring the story and feeling of a painting into their homes in different ways.

My art is for people who have lived, loved and endured; people who want their homes to reflect who they are and what matters to them. I don’t simply want to create something attractive for a wall. I want to create the piece that makes you stop, feel understood and say, “That one means something to me.”
