Hello and welcome to Móðir!

Móðir (meaning 'mother' in Old Norse) began as a small passion project, sparked by a love for illustration and the belief that the objects we live with should tell a story. With a degree in Illustration, I found myself translating inspiration, from the unique silhouette of a Chinese vase to sketches along the Norfolk coast, into functional art. Due to their popularity, these designs quickly flourished into the business you see today. I believe an original lampshade is one of the quickest, most impactful ways to curate your space and express your personal aesthetic. Every single design you see, from the distinctive Frida to the vibrant Seville pattern, originates from my own sketches, lino prints or paper templates. They are not trends, they are original pieces of art translated into home decor.

Each piece is printed with care using a high-quality cotton-linen blend, chosen for its beautiful texture and the way it softly tempers the light. Made in Norfolk, every lampshade is lovingly made-to-order by our small, dedicated team in Holt.

In a world dominated by mass production, choosing our lampshades means investing in one-of-a-kind quality and supporting true craftsmanship. We take pride in the meticulous process that transforms an original sketch into a finished piece that will live in your home for years to come.
