Puffins are one of the most loved coastal birds, full of charm, colour and character. With their bold beaks, bright feet and sturdy little stance, they have a presence that feels instantly recognisable.
This piece was inspired by that mix of coastal character and gentle curiosity. The clean white space keeps the focus on the puffin’s expression, markings and bright touches of colour.
The artwork began as a detailed coloured-pencil drawing, built up with fine marks and careful colour blending to capture the puffin’s soft feathers, dark markings and striking beak.
I wanted the finished piece to feel cheerful without being loud — a characterful wildlife print that brings a little colour, coastal charm and nature into the home.
