A fusion of traditional printmaking and literary art, this original piece celebrates the quiet strength found in nature's most persistent flower; the dandelion. Blackout poetry, an art form that creates new meaning by thoughtfully selecting words from an existing text, transforms a passage about nature's resilience into a powerful found poem. The carefully preserved words weave between an original hand-carved dandelion artwork, creating a visual dialogue between text and image.
The original text, visible in fragments beneath the botanical linocut design, explores themes of persistence and hope. Selected words emerge like dandelions through the pavement, telling their own story ofresilience and renewal. Each golden bloom and silvery seedhead is printed over the text, creating a harmonious layering of meaning and form.
This art print features a modern linocut design, which was originally created using traditional relief printmaking techniques. It is printed digitally in-house on to superior quality, 300gsm, acid-free, cotton paper. This print is landscape and can be purchased in either A5 / 14.8cm x 21cm or A4 / 21cm x 29.7cm size. Each print is carefully printed by me in small batches and signed by hand.
