A striking vase that brings a bold, sculptural art presence into your home. Hand-shaped from premium white stoneware at my workbench on the Hampshire Downs, this piece features a highly unique surface texture carved entirely by hand. The chiseled ridges run in varying directions, catching the daylight beautifully on a window sill or shelf.
The entire piece is finished in a specialty black lava glaze that reacts uniquely in the kiln, bubbling and cratering to create a heavily textured, volcanic stone finish. With its strong silhouette and a gently waving, organic rim, it sits comfortably as a center piece on a dining table without obstructing the view across the setting.
Because this is an artisan fine art object designed to showcase the highly unique, textured glaze, it is not intended to hold water. It looks magnificent styled completely on its own as a standalone sculpture, or styled with dry, structural botanical elements.
- Material: Handmade white stoneware finished with a specialty, cratered black volcanic lava glaze.
- Design Details: Deeply carved patchwork texture with a highly textured, pitted surface and an organic rim.
- Dimensions: 16cm (Height) x 12cm (Width).
- Best for: Displayed on its own as a sculptural object, styled with simple dried branches, or used as a low-profile dinner table centerpiece.
- Care: Decorative art object only; do not fill with water. Dust gently with a soft, dry brush or cloth to protect the textured surface.
