Orange, ochre, black and white markings give the Garden Tiger Moth its distinctive character. Its patterned wings are translated into dimensional textiles, embroidery and painted detail.
Created in Vikki Lafford Garside’s studio in Witney, Oxfordshire. Machine embroidery and hand painting bring the wing markings to life in a decorative textile brooch. Faux suede and cotton organdie give the design its textile texture.
It can be pinned to a dress, jacket, scarf or hat for a butterfly accent. It can also decorate a cushion or curtain.
Each piece is individually made; small variations in colour, stitching and painted detail are part of its character.
