Bright green shades give the Kaiser-i-Hind butterfly a striking presence. Faux suede and cotton organdie form the wings of this detailed brooch, inspired by the butterfly also known as the Emperor of India.
Created in Vikki Lafford Garside’s studio in Witney, Oxfordshire. Machine embroidery and hand painting bring the wing markings to life in a decorative textile design. Faux suede and cotton organdie give the design its textile texture.
It can be pinned to a dress, jacket, scarf or hat for a butterfly accent. It can also decorate a cushion or curtain.
Each piece is individually made; small variations in colour, stitching and painted detail are part of its character.
