Black and white markings give the Marbled White butterfly its graphic appeal. Faux suede and cotton organdie create softly dimensional wings in this textile brooch.
Created in Vikki Lafford Garside’s studio in Witney, Oxfordshire. Machine embroidery and hand painting bring the wing markings to life in a three dimensional and decorative brooch design. Faux suede and cotton organdie give the design its textile texture and robust but flexible finish.
It can be pinned to a dress, jacket, scarf or hat for a butterfly accent. It can also decorate a cushion or curtain.
Each piece is individually made; small variations in colour, stitching and painted detail are part of its character.
