Scarlet, black and white wing markings give this Red Admiral its striking appearance. The embroidered brooch recalls a butterfly seen in British gardens, translated into wearable textile art.
Created in Vikki Lafford Garside’s studio in Witney, Oxfordshire. Machine embroidery and hand painting bring the wing markings to life in a decorative textile design. Faux suede and cotton organdie give the design its textile texture.
It can be pinned to a dress, jacket, scarf or hat for a butterfly accent. It can also decorate a cushion or curtain.
Each piece is individually made; small variations in colour, stitching and painted detail are part of its character.
Details - Butterfly: 8 cm × 5 cm. - Materials: faux suede, cotton organdie. - Fastening: brooch pin. - Packaging: 9 cm × 9 cm gift box with information about the butterfly on the reverse.
