Velvet, organza and faux suede give this white-tailed bumblebee its tactile character. Yellow and white embroidered and painted accents complete the dimensional textile body.
Created in Vikki Lafford Garside’s studio in Witney, Oxfordshire. Textile layers, machine embroidery and hand painting create a dimensional insect with flexible wings and legs. It may look delicate but it is made to be worn and is surprisingly robust.
It sits beautifully on a lapel, scarf or hat, or use it as a decorative accent on a cushion or curtain.
Each piece is individually made; small variations in colour, stitching and painted detail are part of its character.
Details - Brooch: 4 cm × 4 cm. - Materials: faux suede, organza, velvet. - Fastening: brooch pin. - Packaging: 9 cm × 9 cm gift box.
Care Avoid submerging in water, high temperatures and prolonged direct sunlight. The flexible wings can be gently reshaped by hand, flattened or brought together to enhance their dimensional shape.
