A lovely pair of vases that bring a calm, natural feel and a gentle touch of artistry into your home. Hand-shaped from white stoneware at my workbench on the Hampshire Downs, each piece features a beautiful, flowing pattern carved entirely by hand. The chiseled lines swirl in soft blocks across the rounded shapes, catching the daylight and creating wonderful little highlights and shadows.
The exterior is finished with a soft forget-me-not blue wash that paths beautifully into the hand-carved grooves, letting the pale, natural tone of the clay subtly show through on the higher ridges. While the outside keeps its raw, highly tactile texture, the inside is smoothly and fully glazed so they are completely waterproof. With their sturdy, compact profile, they make a perfect addition to a dinner table setting without getting in the way of your conversation.
They work wonderfully holding fresh garden flowers or seasonal cuttings, but they look just as beautiful sitting together as a complementary pair on a living room mantlepiece or a side table.
- Material: Handmade white stoneware finished with a beautiful, pooling forget-me-not blue glaze on the exterior and a fully waterproof interior.
- Design Details: Deeply carved flowing line textures with a smooth, rounded silhouette and an organic rim.
- Best for: Fresh garden flowers, seasonal table centerpieces, or simply displayed together as a decorative pair of handmade art.
- Care: Wash gently by hand to look after the finely carved exterior surface.
White stoneware.
