A dramatic fusion of timber and modern colour. This striking hollow form vessel is hand-turned in our Yorkshire workshop from highly figured English Burr Oak, combined with a vibrant Scarlet Red resin.
The piece features the chaotic, natural beauty of the oak burr—full of swirls and pips—contrasted against the deep, translucent red of the resin. Turned through a small opening to create a continuous, seamless curve, this is a technically demanding piece designed as a standalone work of art.
At 170mm in diameter, it makes a bold statement piece for a mantelpiece or lighted display cabinet where the light can catch the resin.
