Warning:
Candles are a fire hazard and are dangerous if not used carefully and responsibly. Please read our Candle Care & Advice Guide before use, along with the Allergen Declaration Information for details relating to ingredients and potential allergens. These documents also accompany your purchase and should be retained for reference.
Disposal & Recycling
Our candles are made using natural biodegradable wax and presented in recyclable/reusable jars. We design our candles so that there is only a minimal amount of wax leftover as wastage (if at all any), but here are a few tips on what to do with waste wax:
Removing wax from your container First, wax is not water-soluble, and jars containing leftover wax must not be placed in the dishwasher. Adding wax to the sewage system will only clog up your dishwasher and drainage, and contribute further to the national 'fat burger' problem.
The best way to remove the wax from your container is to pour hot water into the jar and let the wax release itself from the jar and float to the top. You can use a paper tissue or piece of kitchen roll to absorb the wax that floats to the top whilst it is still warm or wait for it to cool and simply pop it out.
You might also try using your microwave for a couple of minutes to help melt the wax. Be careful when handling heated wax and hot water, as with anything hot there is a risk of burning yourself. If using a microwave, please use oven gloves or a suitably thick tea cloth whilst handling the vessel. Residual melt wax can be mopped up/absorbed from inside the vessel using an absorbent kitchen towel or tissue paper.
Disposal
Used wicks can be placed into your refuse bin. You may pull off the metal sustainer, clean it and pop it into the mixed recycling bin.
Pieces of waste candle wax can be placed in the refuse bin, or a storage box for onward recycling at a recycling centre. Please always check your local recycling and waste policy beforehand. Do not put scented candle wax into your compost, the worms, spiders and other creatures will find that a little toxic!
Allergen Declaration
Scented candles contain a small percentage of essential oils, synthetic fragrance oils or a mixture of both. Some of which can cause an allergic reaction in humans and animals. Whilst all of our scented candles are made in line with strict IFRA guidelines, and contain very low levels of fragrance, it is important that you, as the customer, understand that there is a risk.
Details of the ingredients can be found on the CLP label affixed to the base of the candle container, and on the Candle Care & Advice Guide accompanying the product.
The allergen statement for this candle is as follows:
