William Morris handcrafted decoupaged scallop shell trinket dish featuring the ever popular and endearing 'Strawberry Thief' design in a contemporary pink and green colour scheme. Highly lacquered to give the impression of porcelain, the shell also boasts a rich gold paint gilding to the edge and in keeping with the contemporary design the reverse has been painted in a beautiful blush pink before being lacquered. A traditional rich gold finish to the shell is also available, please choose your preferred colour from the drop down menu. This shell features the two cheeky strawberry thieving birds from the iconic William Morris design.

The majority of shells used are by-products of the food or fishing industry and would normally end up in landfill. Instead, these have been used to make beautiful and unique miniature works of art. Shells used to be the traditional gift for the 17th wedding anniversary, symbolising the protection, stability and beauty found in a long lasting marriage.
Please note that each shell will differ slightly in terms of shape and size and the placement of the decoupage will be determined by this. The lacquer used is food safe, making the shell dishes suitable for nibbles/candy.
To care for your shell gently dust with a dry cloth or gently wipe with a barely damp cloth before carefully drying. Not suitable for hot snacks or for burning candles/wax melts. It is not recommended to place your shell in areas of high humidity or damp, such as a bathroom. Please ensure that the surface of where to shell is placed is protected to guard against scratches.
