There's a difference between a jumper knitted by machine in minutes and one built stitch by stitch, by hand, over days — and it shows. This piece belongs to Shooshon's Rhodope Winters collection, its yoke worked in a geometric pattern drawn from the folk knitting of Bulgaria's mountain villages, where such motifs were once a mother's or grandmother's signature stitched into a child's clothes.
The wool itself is 100% merino, certified to Oeko-Tex Standard 100 for babies' sensitive skin, and prized for a property synthetic fibres simply can't replicate: it self-regulates temperature, keeping a little one snug in the cold without trapping heat. Wear it as the outer layer over a shirt for daytime warmth, or on its own indoors.
Because the knit has give built in, the same jumper tends to fit comfortably across a wider stretch of growth than a woven garment would — practical reassurance for parents who don't want to be back at the shops every few months.
