Inspired by a beautiful cot quilt designed by May Morris in 1900, The Homestead Hand Embroidery Kit celebrates the timeless artistry of the Arts and Crafts movement.
The original quilt, The Homestead and the Forest, immediately captured my imagination with its charming central motif and exquisite decorative details. Inspired by this historic design, I created my own embroidered interpretation, resulting in a delightful countryside scene filled with character, warmth and traditional craftsmanship.
Rich in colour and texture, this project is a joy to stitch, combining a variety of embroidery techniques to create a beautiful piece of textile art. The design is professionally pre-printed onto luxurious ivory cotton fabric, allowing you to begin stitching straight away without the need to transfer the pattern yourself.
The finished embroidery measures approximately 7.5 inches (19 cm) in diameter and makes a beautiful framed piece, cushion panel or hoop display.
