This wren is one of my most popular embroidery designs, created using layered textile collage and detailed machine embroidery. The style has a gentle echo of old natural‑history studies — a little reminiscent of Bewick’s bird illustrations — giving the piece a timeless, quietly nostalgic feel.
Each artwork is made individually, so while the design is familiar, no two wrens are ever quite the same. Every piece has its own character, shaped by the fabrics and textures chosen for that particular bird.
