An original Victorian waxed pine church pew dating from the late 19th century and full of character.
Constructed from solid pine with traditional plank construction, this rather long bench features a high panelled back, shaped end supports and the original under-seat stretcher. Its warm honey-coloured finish showcases the natural knots and grain of the timber, while decades of use have given it the mellow character and gentle wear that only genuine antique furniture can acquire.
Originally made for a chapel or parish church with its hymn book shelf, it makes a wonderful hallway bench, kitchen or dining seat, boot room bench or garden room feature. Equally at home in a country cottage, farmhouse or contemporary interior, it provides comfortable seating while adding authentic period charm and usefulness.
Dimensions approx: 255cm long x 43cm deep x 98cm tall (48cm to the seat).
Condition: Good antique condition with age-related marks, knocks and wear consistent with many years of use. Structurally sound and sturdy with an attractive waxed finish that enhances its natural character. Please study the photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
Delivery: is included and via Proovia to mainland UK postcodes only. We will need your mobile number to arrange delivery and cannot send without this.
