Hi, I'm Scarlett, a Nottinghamshire based artist who uses art as her therapy. I am a top grade Art & Design student, originally from Essex, but now live amongst the beautiful Robin Hood countryside.
Art has helped me ever since I was young as I have always had health conditions which have now turned into disabilities. It is fantastic therapy.
My main influences are ornate architecture along with botanicals and wildlife, nature in general & my inspiration for my creations come from our scenic Sherwood Forest walks & surroundings.
I am conscious of the need to produce products which are sustainable, with a low carbon footprint which is why my paintings and products are created, printed & packaged in my own home studio, often using preloved resources.
I love to create abstract acrylic & watercolour paintings of late.
Keeping in line with my sustainable choices; you'll often see me browsing for pre-loved canvases so I can reuse & recycle to create my own piece of art on them. When this isn't possible I make sure to purchase FSC certified paper and canvases. I also use many tools that would normally be heading for the rubbish bin, to help me with my mark-making on my paintings. Wasting paints makes me sad so I've even found a way to recycle my acrylic palette leftovers; keep a look out on my original paintings to see if you can spot how I go about using my dried-up palette colours!!
Life as an artist isn't always easy! My biggest challenge is finding the time to create everything I love to turn my hand to as well as being a mum, a wife & a housekeeper!
I hope you enjoy my artwork as much as l enjoy creating it for you
