I painted the jug of Dahlias in a loose style endeavouring to capture the flowing way the plant grows. I’ve used watercolours and ink painting quickly and freely.
The antique frame is a green and cream coloured wood with the remains of old gold paint on the leaves. It is in pre-loved antique condition with the dings and dents of an old piece. It comes with an old hanging hook and original glass. I’ve not been able to give the frame an accurate age.
I’ve painted the piece on 200gsm Zerkall paper. This paper was produced by Papierfabrik Zerkall, a mill operating since the 16th century in the Rur Valley in Germany. The mill closed permanently in 2022 and this piece was purchased in the mid 1990s. The paper itself is a rare, heritage piece.
Please note; I have taken every care in photographing the frame and colour. The colours may vary from the original you receive due to colour representation on different devices.
