Hello, I'm Catherine and my journey with skincare, and CloudCloth, began in 2017 after suffering from a form of urticaria. I was looking for a face cloth alternative to my usual granular exfoliator that I loved using, but that was causing my skin to flare up. Not being able to find exactly what I was after, I started researching and ordering samples from textile manufacturers to experiment with. Having grown up in a Northern mill town, I wondered whether the cloth could be sourced locally and that search led me to our manufacturer in Greater Manchester. When I discovered that their six-generation long history included making textile for a British skincare product many years ago, I knew it was the perfect fit. I loved the versatility of a dual-sided cloth. It was what my skin needed, and I thought others would benefit too. 

Since then, we have improved on the original by switching to a responsibly-sourced organic cotton and tweaked the manufacturing process to ensure the woolly side is at its optimum lofty softness and the exfoliating side is gentle enough for sensitive skin yet effective at removing heavy make-up. Though it has been challenging, creating a sustainable brand was important to me. Not only are the cloths made in the UK, the woven labels are from Pembrokeshire and the packaging from Brighton. Engaging with our customers is incredibly rewarding too, whether that be feedback on the product or hearing how CloudCloth has changed their skincare routine for the better.
