ArtHouse Willows was created out of my love of basket weaving. I’ ve always had a fascination for this ancient craft and been in awe of the skills involved to make beautiful yet practical items for use in everyday living. With its rich heritage and long history, it is wonderful to see it enjoying something of a revival and finding it still has a place in our modern world. My journey into basket weaving began with a gift voucher for a “ Make a Basket Workshop” – a present from my two daughters, and this was the start of my long love affair with the craft.

Using predominantly home grown willow from our plot in the heart of Rutland, I aim to work in harmony with nature, creating traditional and contemporary baskets and innovative pieces, in a largely sustainable way.
My contemporary sculptural lamps, developed whilst studying basketry in Shropshire, use a mix of willow and innovative materials and techniques to explore the fall of light and shadow, and bring a lovely warmth to any home.
