This piece was inspired by that sense of awareness and character. The way a hare seems both calm and ready to move at any second, holding a kind of quiet intensity in its gaze.
The artwork began as a detailed coloured-pencil drawing, built up slowly layer by layer to capture the softness of the fur, the fine detail of the whiskers, and the expression that gives the piece its life.
I wanted the finished piece to feel calm yet full of presence. The kind of artwork that settles into a space and draws you in the longer you spend with it.
