A ceramic necklace with a purpose. This is jewellery born from the kiln's failures—broken pieces reclaimed from the studio floor, tumbled smooth, and given new life as something you can wear. The snowflake crackle surface catches light with subtle texture, and when you set it down, it earns its place as a quiet sculptural object. Each pendant is individually unique, handmade in Oxfordshire by Brooker Ceramics. No two are the same.
Form & Character
The pendant hangs as a small sculptural form, substantial enough to be felt as well as seen. What catches the eye is the snowflake crackle surface—a textured finish that creates shadow and light play as it moves. The form is organic, never uniform, because each piece begins as a ceramic fragment shaped by the kiln's unpredictability. There's an inherent character to a form that's been broken and reformed. It's a piece with history, with story, with the mark of the studio's making process visible in every surface.
Made for the Table. Built for Display.
Wear this as jewellery close to your body, where you'll feel the weight of the ceramic and notice the crackle texture. But it's equally at home on display—resting on a shelf, in a box, hung on the wall. For anyone who wears their ceramics obsession openly, this necklace speaks for itself. It's a conversation starter, a daily reminder of the studio's ethos: that nothing made with intention is a waste. You might wear it one day and admire it the next. It's made for both.
Handcrafted in Oxfordshire
Every fragment that becomes a pendant begins its journey in the Brooker Ceramics studio in Oxfordshire. The original pieces—mug handles, bowl rims, thrown forms—were destined for the landfill. A crack, a kiln pop, a surface issue: any fault and the piece was done. But the maker saw another ending. Each fragment is carefully selected, tumbled in a rock tumbler until smooth, then strung with a silver-plated chain. The work is slow, deliberate, honest. No two pendants are identical. The textured surface you see is where original form meets chance—and then intention. This is Brooker Ceramics' way of saying nothing is wasted.
Quality & Care
The crackle surface is strong and chip-resistant, and the ceramic body is fired to a high temperature, making it dense and durable. As jewellery worn close to the body, treat it with care—a gentle rinse in warm water and soft dry is all it needs. The tumbled finish will age beautifully; any new wear and patina only add to its story. Silver plating will develop patina over time, which many find adds character and depth. This is a piece made to last, worn daily or for special occasions, held, and appreciated as a cherished object.
About Brooker Ceramics
Brooker Ceramics is a handcrafted studio in Oxfordshire creating functional ware and sculptural ceramics for those who live closely with their pots. The maker believes that functional ceramics and art objects shouldn't be separate—a mug or bowl is both tool and sculpture, made for use and for beauty. The studio community extends online to over 25,000 people who follow the process of making, the openness about failures and second lives, the philosophy that there's no such thing as ceramic waste. Every piece from Brooker Ceramics is thrown by hand, finished with intention, and made to become part of your home.
Handmade, so there may be variations in shape and glaze.
